HOTEL KALIFORNIA
The film explores the hotel as a container for hidden memories. A single actress endures the loss of innocence, trauma, and finally redemption as the reverberations of these dark events create an endlessly repeating, claustrophobic experience.
Hotel Kalifornia is a 3 dimensional exploration that brings together all the elements of Studio Locher’s interdisciplinary practice. Alongside, Installation, Projection, Photo Roman, and Super-Enlarged light box Photography, the exhibition centres on a short Film piece, which explores the notion of hidden memories and deep personal anguish. The Hotel (designed and created by Studio Locher) becomes a container, a sound box, a vessel for these memories. All senses engaged, Architecture as total experience.
